In July, a team of us from New Life Baptist Church went out to Romania to support our partners, Beni and Ancuta Micle for our Youth Mission weekend. We had the privilege of working with some amazing young people and adults.
The sixteen young people, aged 14-18, were from poor families from the villages, many with difficult family situations. Beni and Ancuta work with some of them as part of their outreach and church planting ministry. For all of them a trip to the mountains was a huge treat.
Rob brought in visual aids, engaging with the ages and faith of the young people, all the time working through a translator as they couldn’t speak English at all. Debora provided prayer stations and all the journal resources. The journals really helped facilitate the discussion groups at the end of each talk. Debs and Ancuta provided prayer ministry for several of the young people over the weekend.
Greg brought joy and games! It seems the young people don’t get much opportunity to play, and it was such fun to see them opening up to each other and to the team as we did so. Dan led our worship which was anointed and uplifting. On the Saturday night we had a taste of heaven, worshipping in both languages. The young people praised God with all they had.
We had prayed that each of the young people would encounter God over the weekend, and their testimonies showed that our prayers had been answered. We continue to pray that God would seal in all He has done, and that their faith would stay strong through the challenges they face.
