Fundraise

Fundraising can be fun and so much more! We would love you to take part in helping fundraise for our partners and really make a difference to the lives of people in the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

Can you encourage your church to put on a special service to raise funds for one of the nations we work in or towards one of our campaigns, such as WinterHelp or Harvest for the Hungry this year, or perhaps hold a special event?

You could organise a coffee morning, like Ridgeway Methodist Church, or a garage sale perhaps, as Gerry and Carol Partridge do each autumn. How about a special walk this summer for Harvest for the Hungry or, if you are particularly energetic, a bike ride, like TEN Ambassador David Pryke.

In previous years supporters have put on special concerts, organised plant sales, cake sales, harvest suppers and quiz nights. The possibilities are endless! If you do decide to run an event, please send us your pictures and stories. We’d love to hear from you. Have fun and raise funds at the same time! Every pound raised makes a real difference to poor families in Europe. Thank you so much!

My ‘Winter Warmer’ Fundraising Evening

“I was chatting with a few friends a couple of weeks ago over a Sunday lunch, about putting on a Winter Warmer evening to raise funds for TEN’s WinterHelp appeal. The plan was to invite about 15 people for a bowl of goulash, crumble and custard and a glass of something for £5 a ticket. They encouraged me to go for it.

“After emailing some friends and speaking to my home group, I shared the event with a social group. Much to my surprise, more interest came from the social group than through my Christian contacts and some people contributed even though they couldn’t attend.

“Shopping done, I proceeded to chop what seemed like hundreds of potatoes, with the help of a friend. The goulash simmered away overnight, so by the morning of the event I was pretty much on top of things. Around 20 people turned out on the night, a bit of a squeeze in my little house but great fun. Over all we raised over£150; which proves that a fundraiser doesn’t need to be difficult or hard work. Give it a go.”
