The Christian life is a dynamic race that demands endurance and complete devotion.

There is a deep desire within to serve God and make the most of the priceless gift of salvation. But salvation is not the finish line of our faith journey—it is the starting line. The very first step of obedience in this race is baptism which is a foundational act with profound spiritual significance.

Baptism serves as a public declaration of an inward transformation and a conscious alignment of our lives with Jesus Christ. Baptisms at Good News Church Split are joyful celebrations of the whole church body in our Sunday worship services. Here are testimonies from people who were baptised recently:

“For me, baptism meant surrendering the authority over my life and physically demonstrating my inward transformation. It brought relief regarding future sufferings and uncertainties, knowing that Jesus is the one leading and guiding me. The entire process of forgiveness and the redemption of sins meant so much to me, because it brought me joy and lifted the heavy burdens from my shoulders that I had been carrying my whole life.”

“I was baptised at the age of thirteen because I realised that I had been taking certain aspects of my faith for granted. I believed in God and knew there was no reason to delay my baptism since I had already surrendered my life to Him with all my heart. I came to understand that baptism is not just a personal decision, but also a testimony to others. Because of that, I experienced my baptism as a public confirmation of my faith, a visible sign of my covenant with God, and an opportunity to witness to others through my life.”

Through the water of baptism, we visually identify with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. It connects us to the Church and establishes a spiritual identity, reminding us that we no longer live for ourselves, but for Him.
