Extensive building damage following the earthquake
We were devastated to learn about the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and have been in contact with Metin Mintaz, our partner in Turkey, to learn more and guide our response.
Metin and the church in Dalaman are not directly affected or involved in the rescue and relief work but they have encouraged us to pray.
Here is how you can pray:
- May the Lord give strength and hope to those trapped under the rubble and still waiting for help. Let them not feel fear, loneliness, the cold due to weather conditions, thirst or hunger.
- May the Lord comfort those who have lost loved ones. May the Lord heal those who are injured both physically and spiritually.
- May the Lord help those who have lost their homes and touch people’s hearts to open up their homes and provide safe accommodation.
- May the Lord have mercy on the children who have lost their parents and are left alone. Help them to feel the Lord’s immense love and may he provide them the right people to support and love them for the rest of their lives.
- Please protect all children and babies from abduction. May the Lord give the authorities wisdom and sensitivity. May each person, young and older be reunited with their families and loved ones.
- May the churches in affected areas give hope and comfort to the people who are in pain and despair. May the Lord strengthen them too, give them words of wisdom and kindness.
- May the Lord strengthen and bless the rescue workers, volunteers and medical teams and give them strength, endurance, wisdom and direction.
- May the Lord keep the severe weather conditions at bay and bring milder temperatures.
- May the Lord have mercy upon the people of Turkey and Syria. Let the revival come.
