Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Opportunity

TEFL

We are delighted with the response we have had towards the opportunity to teach English online through TEFL, which TEN Ambassador Nick Clarke introduced in January.  He is calling this online initiative TENteach. We have had at least seven people expressing an interest, including trained TEFL teachers and retired language teachers, all keen to use their skills to support our partners in this way.

Nick held a Zoom meeting in March with everyone who was interested and is hoping to soon get a team off the ground. There are likely to be two strands to this; firstly, TEN’s partnership churches could directly support their partner church in Europe in this way. Secondly, a team could offer classes at different levels across the Balkans.

We are really excited by the potential of this new initiative and are having conversations with Christian TEFL about how we can link with them for any training required. Please pray for the formation of the online TENteach team that will bless our partners through English classes focussed on the Bible and Christian teaching. As Nick says, “This way people can learn English and hear the gospel at the same time.”

It’s certainly not too late to get involved. If you are interested please contact melanie.griffiths@ten-uk.org for more information.
