Thirty Years of Good News in Split

Worship at Good News Church

Worship at Good News Church

Good News Church Split officially started on 3rd March 1993. In the time of war, Pastor Danije and Eva Mrsic moved to Split and started the first evangelical church there in the known history of the city.

When they arrived, very soon they saw the need to minister to drug addicts and war refugees there. Over the next few years, with the help of many international teams the church was born and grew from a house group to a church with many born again believers.

The church started serving and ministering to different needs in the city—street evangelism, the abandoned children’s home, by sending drug addicts to the rehabilitation programmes and reaching out to parents. Programmes like Alpha, Awana and others were used to reach new people and raise and develop new leaders.

After ten years of renting space for the church meetings, in 2003 the church got its first building. The building was as much a miracle from God as the church itself was.

Through many challenges and happy times, Good News Church has been a beacon of light in the city of Split. On 18th March this year, we celebrated our 30th anniversary with the desire to give God the glory and praise for all that He has done over the years.

We ask for a fresh vision for what God will do among and through us in the city of Split and this region of the Balkans.

Thank you for standing with us, praying and visiting us. It is a joy knowing that we all belong to the heavenly kingdom.
