Andrei and Eugenie Ghidion

Straight after the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 in the village of Burlacu, district Cahul, Republic of Moldova there was founded an evangelical church by a group of some older men who started to preach the gospel.

Andrei and Eugenie Ghidion

In the Spring of 1995, Andrei repented and came back to God, and went to Bible College in Chisinau to know the Scriptures better. He graduated in 1998 and soon felt God’s calling to come back to his hometown. In 1998 he married Eugenia and in the same year was ordained to be a pastor of Burlacu Baptist Church.

Beside the pastoral ministry led by Andrei and Eugenia, these are some other ministries they run: children, social projects, women, teenagers, youth, families, worship, mission and evangelism. Church members, Ghenadie and Ana Sendrea are involved in children’s ministry and social projects. At present, the church has over 70 members including the children. Many other people get to know the Lord.

The greatest challenge is the migration of young people to cities or other countries in Europe. So, the church’s main focus is on the children in the village aged up to age 16 and older people who are over 50 years old.

Eugenia and Andrei have four children.
